We don’t just make uniforms. We create smart, lasting solutions that enable our customers to get the most out of their uniforms. By harnessing cutting-edge technologies and teaming up with great partners, we’re tackling some of the industry’s biggest challenges, like textile waste.
Together, we’re leading the way towards a circular future - where we use, reuse, and keep the goodness going round.
What We’re Doing About It
At Deane Apparel, we believe that sustainability is a shared responsibility—and our commitment to reducing textile waste is one we proudly pursue alongside our partners. We’ve successfully redirected thousands of kilograms of obsolete uniforms away from landfill, transforming them into valuable resources for packaging, signage, and more.
We’re proud to partner with Impactex—a New Zealand-based textile recycling company committed to diverting garments from landfill and transforming waste into new value. Impactex sorts and grades used textiles, repurposing them through innovative processes that support circularity in the apparel industry. By working with Impactex, we ensure that obsolete uniforms and textile waste are responsibly recycled or reused, reducing our environmental footprint and supporting our goal of 75% landfill diversion. It’s a practical, forward-thinking partnership that helps us turn end-of-life garments into new beginnings.

BlockTexx is a clean technology company driven to help companies divert unwanted clothing away from landfill.
We work with BlockTexx—a clean technology company based in Queensland that’s transforming how textile waste is managed. Using their world-first SOFT (Separation of Fibre Technology) process, BlockTexx recycles unwanted cotton and polyester garments into high-grade cellulose powder and rPET pellets, which can be reused in manufacturing and industrial applications. This partnership helps us divert obsolete uniforms from landfill, reduce emissions, and support a circular economy.

We partner with Upparel, a circular textile recovery company operating in Australia and New Zealand, to transform how obsolete garments are managed. Upparel accepts all fibre types and ensures that 100% of the textiles it receives are either reused or repurposed. Wearable items are redirected to charities and social enterprises, while non-wearable textiles are processed into cushion-like fibre used in furniture filling and insulation. Upparel is also advancing research into scalable commercial uses for this recycled material. Through this partnership, we divert many hundred kilograms of obsolete stock from landfill each year, helping reduce waste and support a more sustainable future.
